ART Art of Calligraphy and Beyond at the National Museum
This exhibition showcases the museum’s collection of decorative objects bearing Arabic and Persian inscriptions. A shallow brass bowl circa 1495 CE is the oldest artifact on display. Curator Zahid Ali Ansari will conduct a walk-through on Saturday, July 11 at 11 am. Tickets are priced at Rs 10 per head for Indians and at Rs 300 per head (inclusive of the audio tour) for foreigners.

MUSIC Anu$hka and Agent at The Backyard

THEATRE Wizwits at Kingdom of Dreams
This musical for kids, directed by Lushin Dubey and Bubbles Sabharwal, is an adaptation of the Roald Dahl’s children’s book The Witches. In the play, a group of holidaying kids soon learn that the Wizwits, who are a cross between wizards and witches, are plotting to turn them into mice. Tickets priced at Rs 849 and Rs 1,099 per head, are being sold on Bookmyshow.com.

 Free FOOD & DRINK TALKS ‘Salaam Baguette’ at India International Centre
Kazem Samandari and Cedric Houze, the co-founder and executive chef of the patisserie and boulangerie L’Opera, and Francois Richier, the ambassador of France to India, will give this talk on the French tradition of making breads and pastry. The event is free.

THEATRE Of Mice and Men at India Habitat Centre
A National Theatre Live screening of director Anna D Shapiro’s Broadway production of John Steinbeck’s eponymous novella. that stars James Franco and Chris O’Dowd. The performance at New York’s Longacre Theatre became the first play to be filmed outside out of the UK for the British venue’s series of screenings.
